Here's a Spectacular Vintage Quality Camera --- a Leitz Leica M6 made in Wetzlar Germany in 1985. I believe this is the 0.72 Version, non TTL? I'm not quite sure---- it does have a lightmeter (and it seems to be working properly). It's in Superb Condition--- many would call it Near MINT. Unfortunately it does have a mechanical issue.
It might be easily fixable but I didn't want to mess around in there. The second shutter curtain does not travel all the way after firing.
It stops about a 1/8 inch short of full travel. With the film door up, if you push it a little, it will then wind fine, or with a little jiggling of the wind lever it will cycle through. This can be seen in the last 3 photos.
It's probably a simple fix that can be done with a CLA... But I don't know except that it will need to be done to use.
The shutter speeds sound crisp, quiet and good.... All the way down to 1 second. (but they have not been bench-tested for accuracy). The Exterior has virtually no signs of use , the viewfinder is beautifully Crystal Clear with nice bright frame lines and like I said, the meter appears to be working fine although it hasn't been "bench tested" either. The bottom plate still has the protective film covering on it too.
It comes with the proper mated camera strap and a body cap. What you see is what you'll get--- the actual item for sale is pictured.... It will be packed well and safe.
I'm not here trying to rip anybody off or sneak one past you. Especially with the noted flaw.I've been a photographer and camera collector for 30+ years and I know how cameras work and what to look for. But I can't "Bench Test" every thing to factory specs and unless it's Brand New... I can't guarantee that every single aspect may be 100% Perfect... Especially in a 30-40 year old item! Any significant defects that I know of are either pictured or described to the best of my knowledge.
I try to be detailed and truthful but I can't describe every every inch of it, so there may be a nick or blemish or a couple specs of dust that I failed to mention... But they would hardly diminish it...
Unless you expect everything to be 100% Perfection. With the noted problem, it should be considered in need of repair. What you see is what you'll get and I package my items well, so it arrives in the same condition as shown. This will give me an opportunity to refresh it rather than have it fall into an endless 30 day pit of obscurity.I'm always up for making a deal, but please don't send me ridiculous 40-50% off lowball offers. I won't respond to those. The item "NICE Leitz Leica M6 Black 0.72 35mm Rangefinder Film Camera Body. Wetzlar Germany" is in sale since Monday, June 17, 2019.
